Student Rights and Responsibilities

Student Standards

  1. As a student of WSB, I will apply myself to my intellectual pursuits and to use the full powers of my mind for the glory of God.
  2. I am determined to grow spiritually and to deepen my relationship with God.
  3. I will cultivate good relationships socially with others and to seek to love others as I love myself.  I will not lie, steal, curse, or be a talebearer.
  4. I will keep my total being under subjection from all immoral and illegal acts and habits.  I will not engage in other behavior that is contrary to the rules and regulations listed in this catalog.
  5. I will maintain an integrity of “openness” to God’s claims on my life, and to do my utmost to know and follow His will for my life.
  6. I will attempt to make every effort to be prompt to classes, Sunday worship, and all appointments.
  7. I will abide by the rules and regulations which may from time to time be adopted by the School’s Administration.  I understand WSB is a private school and I therefore, don’t have vested rights in the governing of the school.  I accept my attendance at WSB as a PRIVILEGE and NOT a right, and that the School reserves the right to require the withdrawal of a student at any time if in the judgement of the Academic Dean or of the Board such actions is deemed necessary to safeguard WSB ideals of scholarship or the spiritual and moral atmosphere.
  8. I will dress in a way that glorifies God (no short shorts, sagging pants, etc.)
  9. I will keep the HONOR CODE carefully and prayerfully.  I understand that my signature is my acceptance of the entire Code of Honor and completes a contract between me and WSB which is a prerequisite for enrollment and becomes a part of my permanent file.

Freedom of Expression

Holds that the right of expression is as necessary as the right of inquiry and that both must be preserved as essential to the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge and truth.  Consequently, students, individually and collectively, may express their views through the normal faculty and administrative channels of communications.

Non-Discriminatory Policy

Affirms that all men are created in the image of God and, therefore, are entitled to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities without regard to race, color, or national origin.  WSB, therefore does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational or admissions policies, or other programs affecting students.  In the light of Holy Scripture the School does not discriminate against students on the basis of sex.
