SM01 – Ethics in Ministry

Ethics has to do with the idea of correct behavior. This seminar course will address the nettlesome challenge of how the minister conducts themselves both in private and in public in terms of a Godly moral lifestyle. There is a higher code of conduct and expectancy regarding the moral behavior of those called to the Christian ministry. Also, this course will teach the student how to build “hedges of protection” around their minds and their hearts to keep them from succumbing to temptation.

SM02 – Survey of the Pentecostal Movement

A study of the great movement of the Holy Spirit through church history, this course is an investigation of the background, origins, development, and contemporary issues confronting the Pentecostal revival.

SM03 – Self Care Ministry

This seminar course will address the importance of the minister learning how to look after themselves. This often is a major problem in the ministry because so many ministers get burned out in their process of doing the “work of the ministry.” The importance of rest, time away and a host of other excellent ideas will be explored. One of the most significant lessons a person called to ministry can learn is how to self-care because this is counterintuitive for those who see themselves as servants of God.

Scheduled: June 7, 2021 – July 23, 2021

SM04 – Introduction to Christian Philosophy

This is a basic introduction to philosophy from a Christian perspective. This course will explore the five branches of philosophy: metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and logic.

SM05 – Prophetic Ministry

This seminar course will explore the nature of prophetic ministry in today’s church. What is prophetic ministry? What are the tendencies of prophetic ministry? Exploring the Biblical insights and past examples in church history, this course will examine those who are called into ministry can cultivate a “prophetic ministry.”
