Spiritual Formation

These courses are biblical and theological in nature in that they provide a solid base for understanding the bible and key areas of doctrine.

SF301 – Fruit of the Spirit: Galatians 5

A biblical study of the nine fruit of the Holy Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5. Special emphasis will be placed on how these fruits may be grown in the Christian’s life. Each student will take a test to help them better understand his/her temperament and the growth to which Christ is call him/her.

SF302 – Into His Presence

This course is designed for students who are seeking a more effective prayer life. The student will study and experience the different types and aspects of prayer. A major goal of this course is that the student experience a fresh communion with God through prayer.

Scheduled: February 1, 2021 – March 19, 2021

SF303 – Fasting and Intercession

A study of the place of fasting and the call to intercession. The student will study the various types of fasts and what constitutes an acceptable fast. Students will also study the lives of men and women in the Bible who fasted and examine the physical and spiritual effects of fasting. The student will gain the confidence and assurance that we have what we ask when we are praying according to God’s will.

SF304 – Personality and Ministry of the Holy Spirit

This course analyzes Biblical concepts and principles that reveal the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. Parallels of the dynamic ministry of the Spirit in today’s world are clearly drawn.

SF305 – Spiritual Gifts: (1 Corin. 12 & Romans 12

This course will examine the motivational gifts, ministry gifts, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Rather than just gaining head knowledge, the student will identify his own spiritual gift and learn how to operate in those gifts to edify the Body of Christ.

SF306 – Spiritual Warfare and Prayer

The believer is in a warfare and needs to be aware of how to effectively fight. This course will explore how to fight the fight of faith and what weapons God has given us to fight with.

SF307 – Christian Ethics and Society

A study of the relationship of the Christian faith to 20th century issues. The religion of secular humanism will be studied along with its by-products – abortion, euthanasia, separation of church and state, and humanism in education.

SF308 – First Principles of Christian Faith

An intensive study of the six foundational Christian principles found in Hebrews 6:1-2; repentance from dead works, faith towards God, doctrine of baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection, eternal judgement. Students will experience and learn to live these truths.

SF309 – Women in the Bible

This course will study women from the Old and New Testament, their culture, spiritual life, and the impact they made on contemporary church history and the lives of men/women

SF310 – Discovering Your Purpose

Purpose has to do with the intention of a thing. In this class the student will explore the plan and purpose of God for their life. What am I here for? What is God’s plan for my life? Am I really called to the ministry? This class will give the student a firm foundation upon which to build a life and an effective ministry
